Camera Setup Requirements

  • Record at 240 FPS slow motion
  • Camera should be on a tripod or stable surface
  • Use the Ball Metrics camera angle, not the 90° Mechanics Mode angle
  • Camera should be slightly behind the hitter on the back-leg side
  • Camera should show the full hitter head to toe
  • Entire bat must stay visible during the swing
  • Home plate and contact area must be visible
  • The first several feet of ball flight after contact must stay visible
  • Leave extra open space in the direction the ball travels
  • Do not zoom in too tight
  • Use bright lighting to reduce motion blur
  • A dark net or clean background is preferred so the ball is easier to track
